I chose this ad because it is specifically targeting younger members of the Art Directors Club for the “ADC Young Guns” competition. There isn’t any “fuzzy somebodies” confusion in this ad, you know directly who the message is aimed at. The strategy of this ad is to encourage young members of the ADC to enter the competition. By utilizing toys, the ad uses creativity and playfulness to relate to its younger members. By placing the toys in compromising adult situations, it gets the message across that while fun, this competition isn’t child’s play.
