Strength in Every Pour

For this week’s blog assignment, I chose a Silk Soymilk advertisement that really stuck out to me. It’s simple; a bright blue background with white copy. However, it’s still very visually appealing. The ad isn’t just selling milk; it’s selling a healthy lifestyle. The ad reads “Pour on the power to help support your heart.” It then continues to say, “25 grams of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. A serving of Silk Vanilla supplies 6.25 grams of soy protein.” It’s very obvious that whoever created this ad did their research. Instead of simply advertising the product by itself, they relayed the benefits of soy protein to the consumer, which makes it more appealing to the consumer. Especially in today’s market where anything labeled as “healthy” sells. I do believe that the benefit relayed in the ad is enough to make the consumer care. People care about their health and I think the message of “supporting your heart” that is used within the ad is enough to convince consumers that this product is worth purchasing. The product is healthy and “good for you,” which is really what’s going to draw people in and make them believe in this product.
