Here are two advertisements from Coke. One is from the 1950’s and the other is a more recent ad. The strategy in both ads is to show that Coke is a beverage that the whole family can enjoy together. I think by looking at the two ads side-to-side you can definitely see that Coke still positions its self as a beverage for the family. The ads are still very effective. I know I love those polar bears and it does make me want an ice cold coke to share with the people I love. I’m sure the older ads gave consumers the same kinds of feelings.
