In 1957 Burger Kings signature item, the Whopper, was introduced. This 1966 ad promotes its amazingness as a “meal-on-a-bun.” It explains the many features of the burger that makes it better than every other burger around, even explaining how it is a nutritionally balanced meal. This product-oriented strategy is still used by Burger King to this day, although in not so many words. The use of less text works today because people are well aware of the Whopper and other products currently available at Burger King.
This ad also pictures the original Burger King sitting on his burger thrown. A much-updated Burger King is still used today, although he is a lot scarier.
