May the Best Car Win
I apologize for the awkwardness of the pictures; I tried to make them look like one big picture, but I am still getting used to this whole blog thing!
The new Chevy Equinox is the product being advertised here. Along with the car standing out, the chart along the left side of the page also does. The chart compares the Chevy Equinox, Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4 and Ford Escape Hybrid and compares them in the following areas: Highway Fuel Economy, Maximum Highway Driving Range, 5-Star Frontal/ Side-Impact Crash Safety Ratings, Onstar, Powertrain Limited Warranty, Rear Seat Legroom, Available Power Liftgate and 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. In all of categories the Chevy Equinox takes the stage.
I think this article did a nice job getting their point across. Chevy clearly did their product research before producing this ad in hopes that it would help consumers choose their SUV. Along with the chart are footnotes; the bottom of the page contains all the information pertaining to the footnotes, making this ad credible and easy to believe.
Although the Equinox shows better gas mileage, onstar, larger seat legroom and other features, I think cars are a hard product to compare. If you love your Honda, you love your Honda, even if another car gets 4 more miles per gallon on the highway. On the other hand, I think that when someone may be buying their first car perhaps (or even trying something new), that this article would be effective for them. Not leaning towards any certain make of automobile, chances are you will go for the best price, fuel efficiency, legroom, high crash safety ratings, onstar, and so on.
